The Rut Is Over. Tonight, We Run It Back.
What a difference a Saturday makes. Reading United were ruthless at Alvernia, putting four past West Chester United in a 4-1 win that finally matched the performances to the scoreline. The Men are out of the early-season rut and firing on all cylinders, and the best part is they get to do it again right away.
Tonight, Tuesday June 16, the Men close out the homestand against Real Central NJ at 7:00 PM. There’s a score to settle here. Come be part of it. Real soccer, real rivalry, real local, and seats you can actually afford.
Match of the Week: RUAC Men vs Real Central NJ
USL2 · Tonight, Tuesday June 16 · 7:00 PM · Alvernia University
Back on May 27, Reading traveled to West Windsor and out-chanced Real Central NJ for ninety minutes, only to fall 1-0 to a single penalty. The performance was there; the result wasn’t. Tonight the rematch comes to Alvernia, with the Men carrying the momentum of four goals and a crowd at their backs. Time to put that one right. Gates open one hour before kickoff.
Four Goals, One Statement
On a beautiful summer evening at Alvernia, Reading came out swinging. Nicholas Papadopoulos caressed a left-footed strike into the bottom corner in the 12th minute, and Isaac Stanley doubled the lead five minutes later after a relentless high press forced the error. After the break, Quinn Olcott turned home a scramble at the back post, and substitute Adrian Kang Hagman finished a low driven cross from the flying Kingsley Kanu to make it four. Eoin Kennedy and the back line did the rest. This was the team we’ve been waiting to see.

Next Up on the Road: Unfinished Business at Ocean City
On Saturday, June 20, the Men head to the shore to face longtime rival Ocean City Nor’easters at Carey Stadium, 7:00 PM. Ocean City spoiled our home opener with a 2-0 result on June 10, and this group hasn’t forgotten it. They travel down the same day as our Men’s Mid-Atlantic Reserves, so it’s a full Reading United takeover of the Jersey shore.
Reserves Report
Our Men’s Central PA Reserves are rolling. They knocked off Keystone FC U23 4-1 on the road to move to a 2-1 start, and they’re right back at it tomorrow night at home. The Men’s Mid-Atlantic Reserves finally open their season after a weather cancellation, and they’re doing it the hard way: three matches in six days. And our U23 Women are back on home turf Saturday. Plenty of Reading United to catch this week.
