This is it, Reading United family. The final match of the 2026 season is tomorrow at Alvernia, when the men host LVU Rush to close the campaign. Wednesday we went toe-to-toe with Philadelphia Lone Star and battled to a dramatic 2–2 draw (recap below), and next week the FIFA Fan Zone returns for two more days. One last chance to fill the turf in red and gold. Then that’s a wrap on a summer we won’t soon forget.
SATURDAY · JULY 11 · 7:00 PM · ALVERNIA · SEASON FINALE
LVU Rush at Alvernia: The 2026 Finale
USL2 Men vs LVU Rush, Saturday, 7:00 PM (Alvernia University). Reading (5-5-3) closes the season against a red-hot LVU side (10-2-1) that has already clinched second in the Mid-Atlantic Division and a spot in the USL2 Playoffs. No pressure, just pride, and a chance to play spoiler.
And we owe them one. Forty-nine days ago we opened 2026 with a 3–1 loss at LVU. Now we get them back on home turf, with a chance to end the year on a high in front of our own crowd. Let’s pack the place one last time.
Make a day of it: our Reserves play a FREE match at Alvernia earlier in the day before the USL2 finale kicks off at 7:00 PM. Keep an eye on our socials for the Reserves start time.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 8 · USL2 · 2–2 DRAW
Two Points That Got Away
USL2 Men 2–2 Philadelphia Lone Star (Wed, July 8). On a crisp summer night at Alvernia, Adrian Kang Hagman scored both goals to put Reading firmly in control, tapping in a Kingsley Kanu cross before the break, then curling a clinical finish into the top corner just after halftime for a 2–0 lead.
But Lone Star clawed back, converting a penalty on the hour and bundling home a scrambled equalizer in the 89th minute to steal a 2–2 draw at the death. The 610 let the officials hear it. A frustrating result on a night the men did more than enough to win.
