ABOUT THE WPSL
The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is the longest-tenured women’s soccer league in North America, with nearly 200 teams spanning 150 cities across 40 states — from the Pacific Northwest to South Florida and New England to Southern California — competing across its top flight and Division II platforms. A cornerstone of the American women’s soccer landscape since its founding in 1998 in Northern California, the WPSL provides a national platform for the top pre-professional and college players to showcase their talent, with alumnae including Brandi Chastain, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavelle, and Catarina Macario, and more than 100 WPSL alumnae playing professionally around the globe in 2025. Sanctioned as a Tier 1 league by the United States Adult Soccer Association and affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, the WPSL is entering its 28th season in 2026 — with WPSL Pro set to debut as a Tier III professional league in 2027, creating a clear pipeline from amateur excellence to the professional ranks.
