Bieber Joins Ownership
Reading United AC, one of the most respected pre-professional soccer clubs in the country, is excited to introduce Matthew S. Bieber as its newest ownership partner and as the Chief Communications Officer of Berks Professional Sports, Inc. Bieber joins an ownership group that includes Christian M. Bauer, President, and Art Auchenbach, Vice President.
“I’m humbled and beyond honored to join the Reading United AC family as an ownership partner,” said Bieber. “This club has a rich history of developing players and creating unforgettable experiences for fans. I was there, I was at the club’s first ever game, when we were known as the Reading Rage. I wore Red Puma Kings because of a player on the field that day. I’m excited, as are my wife Rebecca and son Avery, to be part of the highest level of soccer in Berks County. We’re ready to play our part in growing this club.”
As a Berks County native, former Fleetwood High School soccer standout and Berks County Champion, and former Division III collegiate soccer player, Bieber brings a deep passion for the game and immense love for the Greater Reading-Berks community. With a background in marketing, academia, and digital transformation, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation throughout his career. His vision aligns perfectly with Reading United’s mission of fostering talent, inspiring the next generation of players, and strengthening community ties through the “beautiful game”.
“Matthew’s marketing and social media expertise, community-first mindset, and love for soccer make him the perfect addition to our ownership team,” said Art Auchenbach, Vice-president and Co-owner. “We are confident that his involvement will help us expand our reach, enhance our programs, and bring even greater value to Reading United supporters and the community at large.”
Reading United AC has long been a cornerstone of the Berks County soccer community with 2025 being the club’s 30th season. Players are recruited from top college programs and many alumni have gone on to play professionally in Major League Soccer (MLS) or internationally. Reading United AC competes in USL League Two (men’s team) and the WPSL (women’s team) and are currently preparing for the upcoming 2025 seasons.
