Reading Pulls Out 2-0 Victory On Road

Two second half goals lift Reading to 8-0-1

LEESBURG, VA (June 19, 2019) – After a closely played first half, a flurry of second half goals pushed Reading to their 15th consecutive road match without a loss. Simon Becher netted his 6th goal of the season on a penalty kick, pushing him to tied for third in the league. Tsiki Nstabeleng scored what would be the game winner off a short corner kick in the 63rd minute.

With the victory, Reading improved to 8-0-1 on the season, and jumped 11 points clear of the Mid Atlantic’s new second place squad, Long Island. Long Island holds two games in hand on Reading, with a trip to Lehigh Valley on the schedule on Saturday night and Reading on Wednesday evening.

That Wednesday night game will be Reading’s Latin Heritage Night, where an all-Latin playlist curated by United players will be featured throughout the evening, and WFMZ’s Roberto Vinces will have a bilingual public address the entire evening. Reading’s Democratic nominee for mayor, Eddie Moran, will be on hand for first kick. $5 tickets can be purchased at readingunitedac.com/tickets.
