On Track – RUAC by the Numbers: RUAC USL2 vs. Ocean City Nor’easters

Reading United AC Men’s 1st Team (1-3-0) opens its home schedule tonight as longtime rival Ocean City Nor’easters (4-0-0) visit Alvernia University in the latest chapter of one of the USL League Two’s most storied rivalries. 

1: Finally, Reading United is back at Alvernia. After a LONG four game road stretch to mark the season, tonight marks RUAC’s FIRST home game of the 2026 campaign.

62: Tonight’s match marks the 62nd ever meeting between the two RUAC and Ocean City. Ocean City holds a slight edge in the historic rivalry with a record of 25 wins, 24 losses, and 12 ties.  

30: More than 30 years old, the rivalry between Reading United and Ocean City dates back to 1996 and is one the longest running in all of USL soccer. Back then (or last century), the clubs were known as the Reading Rage and South Jersey Barons, respectively.

2: Reading United went unbeaten against Ocean City in 2025, posting a 1-0-1 record in the season series. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in Reading before Reading United earned a 2-1 road victory in Ocean City. 

3: Michiharu Takanashi leads Reading United in scoring with three goals, finding the back of the net in three of the team’s first four matches.
